    Daytona rear wheel disk brakes

Hey I have some question mostly about rear calipers on my 87 shelby z. Three years ago I changed disk and pads, on the inner side of the rear calipers there's a hole with a screw for adjustements (first time i saw that Oo). I tried to be logical about that; i used the screw the same way we torque wheel bearings. I tightened it till the disk gets locked, loosened it and tightened again by hand. Some days later the rear left wheel got stuck and heated and untill then, i have no handbrakes on the left (the cable probably broke). I neglected it but now i want to repair everything that has to be done. I may have done it wrong and never found any good information about that (haynes manuals and mitchell shopkey doesn't know there was rear calipers it seems). Any of you guys have good hints about that? Thanks!

PS: Sorry for my english im french

That adjustment is for the ebrake/hand brake shoes that press against the inside of the rotor. over tighten them an you will overheat your brakes and then ruin your e-brake.

So it's ONLY for the e-brake and not the brake itself? Thanks, now i hope the cable broke and not the caliper, may be hard to find.

Those early rear calipers can be somewhat expensive if you need a new one. Retrofitting the 1989 and later rear disc brake setup greatly increases the availability and cost reduction of servicing parts as the design was used extensively later on.

Nice hint thanks! I see they changed for a disk/drum hybrid for the e-brake wich is good, But it seems like i will have to change a lot of parts. For the 10 000 km i make a year i think i'm better finding the original caliper. In the listing at my job i have numbers for cardone and fenco, i just hope there's some left somewhere.
