    Knock Sensor Wiring

While pulling my motor out of my IROC R/T, I noticed this wire was not looking good, this is a single connection between the main engine harness and the knock sensor, looks pretty banged up and I really want no issues with the knock sensor. I can de-pin the other end, but how do I fix the angle plug end. Should I repair or replace?

After doing some reading, this sounds like a decently common part. Any other cars use this exact harness so I could pick on up at the junkyard?

Yup, all 2.2/2.5 Chrysler turbos use that knock sensor connector so it should be an easy fix. I don't envy anyone that has to get to that plug on the TIII though. It's almost more worth it just to R&R the intake manifold!

Would that also include N/A motors? The chance I will find a turbo dodge at the JY is pretty slim.

You could cut back the rubber a bit and then rerubber it with some liquid electrical tape. The rubber is covering the inner brass terminal stuff so you won't have much wire inside. I did a repair like this and had to reconnect a wire to the terminal.

Probably not. Other than the '84-'85 H.O n/a 2.2L (Omni GLH and SC), I don't think any n/a motors even used a knock sensor except maybe an FFV vehicle.

It may not be exact, but similar connectors are used on knock sensors, temp sensors, glow plugs and all sorts of things. If the adapter uses the same diameter pin you could find a useful pigtail.

    Re: Knock Sensor Wiring

I was digging through summit on lunch today. I found this universal part. I may order this up, but I am going to measure my knock sensor first. Says it is for a #8 Stud Size
