This is like trying to find a needle in a haystack but, I am in need of two Odometer Chips for my cars. They did the 5 dash thing. These say on the back [GI, 2205, 8435, Taiwan] If anyone has any good ones lying around, please let me know.
Thanks.

If having a hard time understanding what exactly you are asking for. What car is it out of?
there is an onboard memory chip inside tge cluster that handles odometer storage. My "local" U-pull-it has an 84 with digital but I haven't been out there in a few months.
Ian Adams Function>Form 1990 shadow scrapped, too rusty:( 1991 Spirit R/T Scrapped, parts sold:( 1989 Turbo Caravan Daily beater with built-ish engine slowly evolving into weekend turbo beater.
The cars are an '84 and '85 Chrysler New Yorker. In those two years, there was a 14 pin chip that stored the Odometer info. Here are some pics that help explain it better. The chip goes into the socket that one can see in the last pick and is visible once you take off the small cover. From '86 on, the chips were soldered directly on the board to prevent odometer tampering. Any Good chips or that electronic cluster, I would be interested in purchasing. I pulled an electronic cluster out of an 85 NY from our local pick n pull two weeks ago but the chip also shows the 5 dashes. The problem is that without the chip you have no way of keeping track of mileage for maintenance and the trip setting does not work either. These were the same if I am not mistaken for the New Yorker, LeBaron and Dodge 600 and E-Class in the '84 and '85 model years that had the Electronic Cluster. On this cluster there is the Message Center at the left end, the Dodge one had a Tachometer but, that section is run by a separate green connector and can be changed from the Tachometer to the Message Center very easily.
Thanks

They are also the same chip in the 84-86 Daytona and Laser digital cluster.

So far all I have found are the 86 up that have them soldered to the board itself. I am still looking hoping to find a couple of good chips from those years or, a good cluster. I have a couple of 87' Lebaron GTS Digital Clusters but the chips do not interchange, had my fingers crossed. So, will most likely sell those... The dashes are driving me nuts in one of the cars.
Someone figured out what the genetic equivalent chip is. But, I don't remember who or when. It was a couple years ago.
Oh Please... think, think, think... if one of those chips would work? That would solve the problem for a lot of us.
Thanks. I hoped it was an already programmed chip. I know these blanks. The problem is getting the info into them to work and how to do it. Another member is also working on it and so far, has had no luck. Hopefully,,, the Code gets cracked or some chips show up on someone's dusty garage shelves.
Digital clusters:
4312770 1984-85 K car have 10. all untested
4312654 1984-87 G body have 14. all tested, all have various failures
4374186 1986-87 K car have 4. all tested with the following failures:
HEAT/GAS:WEAK OIL/AMM: NO GOOD
SPEEDOMETER NOT WORKING
HEAT/GAS: PEGGED HIGH
OIL/AMM AND HEAT/GAS: VERY WEAK
weak means the lighting is weak or dim
all of these clusters are garbage (or at least unreliable) if you ask me and luckily my 2 G bodies have analog gauges that work perfectly
