Early L Body Belt Mouldings / Window Scrapers

    Hey Guys..

I'm looking to buy the rear "chrome" / "bright" belt mouldings or window scrapers for an Omni or Horizon 4 door. There were only used on the cars from like 78-83 before they all went black.

Part numbers are 5208640 / 5208641...i checked the locator site with no luck.

I'd prefer NOS but at this point if they are in good shape I'll take them because I need them for my 79 Horizon project.

    Thanks...Robert

Have you checked all the obsolete Mopar parts places? Prices are ridiculously high, and as a result of this they seem to sit on lots of parts. After you get over the sticker shock, you can then decide how bad you want them. Here is a couple examples off the top of my head. I located a NOS TII G/J/H/Q radiator. Only $1000 dollars plus another hundred to ship. I located a Omni starter (positive) sub harness, on sale for only $479! Good luck with your search. I think you will need all the luck you can get.

NOS is out of control. I needed an interior part and the quote I got was $900.

I made mine using 1/0 gauge (yes, way overkill it) wires for less than $60. Also upgraded my grounds, alternator to battery wire at the same time. The thick copper wire will outlast my car!!

Doubt I'd spend remotely close to that one but do you have the part number for the positive sub harness? That's the only new harness I need still for under the hood of my car

Sure just looked it up on my parts catalog CD. 85 L-body manual tranny after 2/15/85 is #4331927 while auto (similar) is # 4331928. I found an auto one a few years ago for around $60 in dealer stock. Had about 20 years of shelf dust on it. It will plug into your s-60 harness.

Sub harness? the power wire that goes to the starter is one wire though unless we are talking about something else. I bought one off custombatterycables.com made from 2ga for $40 I think. It is pretty ridiculous for this small car.

Calling it a sub harness because it includes solenoid actuating wire, VSS wires, & backup light wire(s).

Oh yea...I've even had the number run through Chrysler Canada's network with no luck.

They have to out there somewhere...even in a junkyard.
