This is an awesome thread about an awesome build! Does that black oxide treatment you did to the bolts seem to hold up well?

It's too early to tell since it hasn't been driven yet. I can tell you I did some of the bolts over 8yrs ago and so far they're holding up even when the garage has been at 75% humidity. A socket will mark them a little but I like it better than what they were and it's a lot cheaper than paying someone to do it.
Something told me to check the input shaft to make sure blast media didn't make it into the pump. It did but turned out to be a good thing when I took it apart, the guy that rebuilt the tranny over 13yrs ago forgot to put one of the bolts into the oil pump. The trans only has less than 1k on it and everything else looked good. I media blasted the bolts for the tins and use a cold black oxide solution on them today, once the sealer dries then I can put the new tins on that I bought from the dealer years ago.
You know 320 it's funny how there's some threads I've never clicked on because I didn't see them or they didn't catch my attention, but then when I do they are so full of win! Great pics, Nice project, look forward to seeing it in July!

Thank you. I bought the Black Oxide Kit from Cazwell Plating in Lyons N.Y.
I finished installing the new tins last night, used the Mopar reusable tranny pan gasket and put in a Sonex Reverse Strut Band in. That’s the good news... The catastrophic news is I found out my Accel DFI EGM system won’t support a wasted spark DIS ignition and I really don’t want to run a single ignition coil setup. In the past I had to gap the plugs down to keep it from blowing out but then the idle quality suffered. Now I’m looking at possibly running a MegaSquirt 3 system which will require redoing the wiring and bunch of other changes. The car won’t make it to SDAC this year.
Very cool build.
Who built the pan?
LU converter?
Is that a peloquin LSD?

Brian Slowe built the oil pan. It's a work of art and I absolutely love it. He was my easy button when my local machine shop wasn't getting it done. I brought him boxes of parts and a partially machined block with head. Between him and Steve M. They put Humpty Dumpty back together again as a long block. Now I now it's right and Steve M. did additional porting on the head which is a huge plus to help me reach my goal.
The converter is a Hughes non-lock up.
The Peloquin LSD was a last minute decision to replace the Phantom Grip. Hopefully the trans will hold the power for now until I build a better unit. Don't get me wrong, It's built pretty good but that was done about 15yrs ago and you guys have made great strides since then with modifications and technology. Even though it was done long ago it only has around 2k on it.
Now my next challenge is to decide on a different engine management system since my DFI won't run a wasted spark DIS ignition. I'm strongly looking at the Megasquirt MS3PRO and would like feedback from anyone that is using it. I already spent stupid money the last 9months trying to get this done and this seems to be the most cost affective option.
That oil pan......omg!!!!!! I'm afraid to get a quote on that bad boy but i might just have to
So the disttibutor is just there to drive the oil pump? Does it need some kind of sealed cover over it?

That's only there at the moment to cover the hole and plan on removing and plugging the hole with possibly a expanding rubber soft pug unless I get something made out of billet aluminum.
Have you been able to test or get any info on the dwell time on those cop's? I ended up using the cop's from a 2006 4.7l Jeep commander. So far they are working awesome.
