Yikes. Did a fat guy own the car before you did?
Not sure about the very first owner, but the kid before me seems to be about my size. The spot that split has obviously been repaired once already, and the 'patch' didn't do well in the cold.
Cars today lack substance that older ones had.

That sucks to hear. Possible to swap the seats side to side for the time being? I know a guy with a truck named Clyde that does upholstery work for a living...would you like his number? He's done interior work with me in trade for beer.

Don't wanna swap seats. The passenger seat it perfect, and I'd like to keep it that way.
My guess is that you have the seat with the big side bolster which doesn't have the side airbag, right?
I have the one with the airbag and my seat is splitted on the bottom cushion where the fabric meets the vinyl. Very crappy.
I'm sure the replacement upholstery for that car was discontinued and junked as soon as they could get away with it also.

I have the airbag seats in my CSRT and I'm getting some crackling on the left side of the driver's seat bolster but that's about it. Car has about 35k miles on it now.
