My project that nobody else is doing because it is my project!

Forget all the crap I have done to my poor Omni in the past. It is getting a complete tear down. I have the rotisserie and car at my friends garage and have begun the journey.
Here are the first round of pictures from 2 days of tear down. Will be back over there tomorrow to pull the drivetrain and maybe some of the suspension. Hoping it will be on the rotisserie Tuesday.
The first three are the first day and the last two are the second day.

I just realized you managed to get the dash out with the dash harness still attached to the car. Genius!!! How did you do that? When I pulled my dash I had to remove the fuse box to get out the dash as all the wiring was intertwined in the dash itself.

A rotissorie make life easier while doing a resto. You can really spend time doing better work on the bottom of the car and get to all those hard to reach places without having to stand on your head.
As soon as I get caught up, I'm starting the restoration of GLHS #420. It'll be going on the rotissorie as well. In fact it'll be the first car I own that will go on my rotissorie. I've only had other people car on it to date.

See below. I have some subframe rust I need to remove and patch. This will make it soooo easy to repair.

I bought this one 2 months ago. My car is first, a 68 Firebird is next and we might use it on my friends 57 Chevy if we pull the body.

Spent about 6 hrs pulling the drivetrain and K-member out. The front of this thing is very clean for an original Ohio car. The plan is to have it on the rotisserie Tuesday night. Here are 4 more pics from today.

I pulled the center bracket and the defrost ducts out. When I had it out yrs ago for the heater core(I think), I drilled an extra hole next to the one for the harness clips on the back side of the dash so I could secure the harness with zip ties. All I had to do was cut the ties and out it came.

My friend put them on there to add a little height, but to make them more stable. The concrete in this part of the garage is a little rough. Plus, he gets on an idea and goes with it whether or not it really is necessary. They are much more stable than without, but I'm not sure they are necessary. It's his garage, so I go with it.

I didn't get pics, yeah I know, but the front fenders and side skirts are off the car and the front is connected to the rotisserie. The front fenders are in great shape so I can use one of the spare sets to repair the rear fender flares. Hopefully it will be fully on the rotisserie by the end of the day Monday.

Made some more progress on her today. Finally on the rotisserie and almost everything is off the car, except the exhaust and fuel tank. Other than front door panels, shifter and front seats, it is empty. Headliner backer board is in there, but that doesn't count.

After tossing my cookies at 5:00 am and I the wife doing the same 45 min later, decided it was a rest day. Worst we have felt in years. Hopefully tomorrow.

When you've recovered, could you post photos of how you attached the car to the rotissorie?

Originally, I made some brackets that bolted to the body where the bumper brackets did. I did not like how the sheet metal on the core support was being bent when I raised the rear to mount it on the back part of the rotisserie. I took a body saw and squared the holes in the body at the frame rails. The adapters were inserted into the holes to a depth of 5-7 inches and used wood wedges to take up the slack. I need to do the same for the rear pieces, but was starting to get sick so I just inserted them in the bumper/frame holes. There is a center section that ties both ends together to keep it from coming apart(in case you didn't know).

    Yes I will get pics.
