Sorry it took a few days to respond, been busy with school stuff. I had 3-4 gallons of Sunoco 94 in it. Put that in my equinox and it ran fine. Gas was 3 yrs old....lol.

Was going to go over today but the weather turned crappy earlier than it was supposed to.

Stood next to it and looked at it while hashing out some important locomotive details.

Did buy a rebuilt 555 for it. Now if you cheap bastards will fill up the axle group buy, my drive train would be complete.

Thanks to you cheap bastards for buying the axles in the group buy!!!
Holy hell it has been a while since I posted in my project thread. The car is stripped down to almost nothing except one door panel. Next week I plan to power wash the chassis (was hoping to do it this week, but the shed project got in the way).
Went to replace the impeller in the holset and found out I ordered for the wrong turbo. So I ordered the correct one and it showed up today.

Just realized I never answered your question. Yes, it is an MR2 driver's seat. I have a matching pass seat for it, also. They hold so much better than the stock Omni one.

Update.....I cut out the crappy metal on the pass floor. I need to pull the windshield and patch right above that area. It was not as hard to cut out as I first anticipated. Finally some progress.

Also found that I do need to redo my fuel lines. Where they turn past the frame piece behind the front seats is rather crusty. The oil was hiding that nice surprise.

I don't have pictures but I have gotten more done on her than the last pictures showed. I finally picked up a pair of p-body spindles so I can go with bolt in hubs. I already have neon front coil-overs so they should bolt in nicely. Next is upgrading the head bolts to 11mm. Hope to get over to my friends house to do some more on her on Thurs.

Re: My project that nobody else is doing because it is my project!

I had been wanting to repair the head bolt threads in the block. When I rethreaded it for 11mm bolts, the threads came out really bad and the bolts felt weird when I tightened them, in a scary way. SO I looked around for a fix and decided to go with the timeserts instead of helicoils. Bought the kit and an extra tap to try to help avoid tearing out of the metal in the block. Also used more thread cutting oil and it went great.
Found out that the block in my garage did not get ruined by the pipe bursting a couple years ago. The #4 piston got attacked by some sort of salt (being in the garage, ice melt must have gotten into the cylinder. So one forged piston is pitted around the top of the piston above the top ring. Block can be bored out but now the pistons are of no use. Maybe someone can use some standard bore forged pistons.

The ones I got went full length of the threads. I have to check them and see which ones they were. I think they were 30-35mm long ones.
I used the 35mm North Star inserts. They are the same 11mm x 1.5 as our head bolts.

Other than getting a few things here and there, I had not made much progress on the Omni......until today.
Had to drop off the 63 Corvette T-10 that I recently rebuilt so I thought I would try to get some floor repair done. I was able to get most of the hole in the pass side repaired just this afternoon. It was pretty damn hot so I had to take a few brakes for water, but happy with the progress. Hell, one tack weld was progress lately...lol.

    Worked on the Omni today......YAY!!
Managed to close the hole up at the base of the of the A pillar and windshield channel on the pass side. At least I know what rusted the pass floor out. I know, common area, but glad to find it and not be wondering if a seam was causing it. Holes in the pass floor are all patched. I'm not done with the area. I just hit it with primer to keep it from flash rusting. It was just rough ground with a coarse grinding wheel. It needs plenty of work and body filler....lol.

Finally got some time to go visit my car and do some more welding work. Finally rotated the rotisserie to gain access to the underside. I knew this car was in good shape for an Omni that spent it's whole life here in NE Ohio, but seeing it in full light shows how good it really is. Frame/body wise, I lucked out.

That's what I have. Wanted to move the cat to the downpipe to get more mufflers in. Shoe horned a resonator and a cat after the shifter. Talk about a tight fit.

Good to see some progress on your glhs!

My plan, and need due to the holset, is to remove the cat and put in a new downpipe. Should be plenty loud at the magnaflow in back.

OK, things got moving along.....literally. I moved the car from Randolph to my grandmothers old house just 2 min away. It is up on the lift I stole from Summit Racing and the floors are painted....mostly. Finished the windshield channel repair and welded the divot between the cowl and a-pillar. Finishing up the sanding of that area to get a good fit.
Earlier in the year I got the shadow spindles and bolt in bearings installed and found the calipers I had bought years ago....and they are the same ones!!!
