The only thing that has happened so far is the speedo cable got too close. Everything else in that area has some kind of heat shielding, minus the booster. I haven't had any issues with brake fade though, well not yet and nothing so far has been damaged. I have about 5K+ miles on the car since the work. I have thought about putting a shield between the turbo and the booster, just need to fabricate something simple.

I am researching them for a project I am working on. It seems many have been having luck with the "EMUSA" brand ones from ebay. A few guys out there running them on daily drivers with 20k+ miles. Most of the results seem to be on the LSx forums and such. I found a few success stories on some Supra pages and 1 on a GTR page. The one in depth review where the guy was running one on a 1JZ motor, the only long term issue was a slight boost spike. It seems that if you aren't road racing your car or have a build that relies heavily on the wastegate then you can easily get away with them... I think I might just order one up and try it out, Ill just make sure to set the overboost in case it fails shut.

guys, stop trying to attach pics to the posts. everyone should know by now that pic hosting is messed up till frank rebuilds the board.

if you have a gallery here or any external image hosting site, upload them there and copy the image URL and click the "insert image" button. click the "from URL" tab, paste the image URL link in the box. then decheck the "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" checkbox and hit OK.

this is the only way your images will work reliably on this site till frank rebuilds the board.

feel free to reference this post when you see the broken image of death pic that litters this forum far too much.

Its the automatic checkmark causing everyone's problems. I asked for that to be removed a few years ago...

Re: recent 8 valve external wastegate set up pics

so it looks like tapatalk works.

brent, the auto checkmark was so that we'd never lose the pics because they were attached to the thread/server/message board....... its a good idea... if the software updates dont break everything....
