These pistons have been measured, and the specs are noted on each one.

It's fairly cheap just to have a machine shop hone out the small end of the rod to .912.

I have a 2.2L TII block honed and ready to go with standard bore so this is tempting. I also have the stock pistons/rods already cleaned up and machined and also ready to install.

Problem is they are a press-fit pin combo. If I bought these pistons, would I need to buy a set of rods to go with them? I am kicking myself for missing out on FWDP black Friday specials on the rods. I would like to assemble them myself and avoid the local machine shop. They do good work, but the wait times are a pain. Floating pins are so easy to deal with of course and I can do them myself.

Yes, they will work with your block and your rods.
However, the small end of your rods will have to be sized for the .912 pins.
This is a simple procedure for any machine shop,
and shouldn't be more than $50-$60.

Thanks for the info. I am still a bit lacking on knowledge so bare with me here..

What would I have to do to get my rods to work with the .912 pin? As far as I can tell, the press-fit pin setup uses no pin bushing. So I would have to have them disassembled (from the current stock pistons), machined (to accept a pin bushing), a brass pin bushing installed, honed, and then it would work?

Sorry for my ignorance on this particular subject but I am tempted to try to get a good deal on some ready to go rods with .912 pins so I can make this happen and have a stout as hell TII shortblock.

you don't need the bushing in the small end so much

personally I've always felt bushings were a repair for an old rod rather than something that should be found in a new rod

You can actually have your rods machined out but leave them press fit and have the machine shop press them in....BUT do NOT install the C clips. Or, have your rods machined out and bushing installed.
