ya about 10 minutes start to finish. car on the ground.

    tools needed :
    floor jack.
electric impact. with 19mm/21mm deepwell for strut bolts, 32mm axle socket, what ever lug nut socket you need.
10 MM 1/4 inch drive to get the brake line off. or ratchet wrench.
19/21mm box or open end wrench. I have also used a crescent wrench .( used for hammer on cotter pin and strut bolts)
New axle. lube the splines with some grease.
need nose pliers for cotter pin.
Large phillips or flat head screw driver. I prefer thick phillips. or even a center punch. used to line up the strut bolts to the knuckle.

    bring tools to car.

#1 floor jack under the control arm.
#2 electric impact gun to the lug nuts and toss tire.
#3 pop dust cap and grab pin with pliers.
#4 32mm socket on the impact .ZIP.
#5 19?/21? MM socket on the strut/knuckle bolts with a open end wrench on the other side. 10mm wrech on the brake hose attachment on the strut.
#6 pop the strut/knuckle bolts out and pull the knuckle forward away from the strut as far as you can.
#7 pull the axle out of the knuckle towards the engine. .pull the axle from the transmission.

#8 you did grease the splines on the new axle right? pop in new axle to transmission and fish the stub into the knuckle.
#9 push the knuckle back and push the strut onto the knuckle..
#10 use large screw driver to align the holes for the strut bolts. fish in strut bolts . dont forget the little dogbone plate!
#11. impact gun back on the strut bolts. give all the camber you can get. 32mm the axle nut on also. about 5-8 ugga dugga's or 10 or so zerps.
#12 tap cotter pin back into place and tap it in. dust cap on.
#13 wheel on with lug nuts.
    #14 drop car. done.

If this takes more than 10 minutes you didn't have your tools ready. or parts near by.

FYI the last axles i got from NAPA fit great. and looked nice. for a van. but i was equal length.

I had some other new ones before this, and can't find the receipt.

These I believe said that they were a bit longer to compensate for motor mount wear. But, I didn't remember that when i bought them, since i knew i had good poly engine/trans mounts.
I have the old one that was just removed, and could get measurements off of it. Just don't know where you want measured, and how to compess into the cup and take a pic! I think i'll be short a few arms!
Do you happen to have any original OEM Mopar axles? That's what they are asking or.

    LOL 'to slow old man..."

should only remove the axle nut and the balljoint pinch bolt

then insert end of 5 1/2-6 foot steel bar that will not bend into the A of the control arm and position tip of bar under K frame
push bar down .. ball joint sepperates

    1 1/8 bar..easy

1 1/4 bar..you're gonna have to bounce on the bar some

a helper to position the strut/knuckle over the ball joint helps but with lots of practice you might get it by yourself

saved all the time removing the strut to knuckle bolts .. or swaybar bolts
    -and saves the alignment too
    edit i should add
this is best done with the three other wheels on the ground - especially if you have a 1 1/4 bar as the pry bar can exert enough force when pushing down to lift the opposite rear corner up off of a jackstand .. L body , G body , K body . are all the same this way

    Might want? or are in?

    UPDATE:

Still working on minivan axles to confirm factory lengths. Does anyone have OEM MOPAR 1989-1990 Turbo Minivan axles? I am NOT looking for aftermarket ones that fit the van but instead. ONLY looking for factory MOPAR axles. Both, driver side short and passenger side long. If you have some, PLEASE post in this thread the overall length. Measure procedure:
    1) Lay axle on ground
    2) Push axle together slightly to take up any slack
    3) Let axle relax
    4) Measure overall length end to end
    5) Measure again to double check
    6) Post lengths and picture of axle in this thread

...and I don't want to hold up the rest of the GB waiting for this so will contact DSS to get the rest of the orders in process.. stay tuned

Re: DriveShaft Shop Axles - Group Buy

I have a driver side factory axle, came out of an '91 AWD minivan with a A604. Would that help at all? Should be the same as a A670, ergo should fit A413 also. I don't think there was any width difference in the AWD vans.

I actually have the pass side too, but it is different due to the PTU.

Mike Pascali measured what we believe are OEM van axles free length:

    Driver side: 25 3/4"
    Passenger side I got 41 1/4"

I think we need to double check the driver side axle length, that's only 1/2" longer than a Daytona axle bit the passenger side is over an inch longer?

    Anyone else get measurements?

Is equal length a possibility? Not a drag racer but would like a set of quality axels.

U joint and intermediate shaft are both weak points. There are photos somewhere with a u joint failure that took out the trans/block...
