Update - as posted previously DSS is havinga hard time getting the axle inners. I asked them about a couple direct options to see what they can do like possibly make them or outsource to get machined. will follow up this week.

The order has been on hold for a couple years. DSS cannot get some of the required parts.

Any news?
Update - at PRI, I met with the guy I used to deal with almost a year ago. he's the one I sent the minivan axles to before the recent guy got involved. He stated the same issue as the recent guy did about they cannot get the inner joints. We agreed to look into options and I sent him a follow up summary email after I got home to get him back in the loop. I'll call after the holidays.

oh, "it'll happen" .. prob the week after I commit a bucket full of cash .. to something else - things usually go that way..
I bought a set of axles from Detroit Axle. They look like they’re made with OEM parts. These are probably stronger than Chinese axles but not quite DSS strength. Then again maybe they are.
Reached out to DSS today... *fingers crossed*

What I don't understand in this day of 3D printing, CNC machining, and billet everything, how the parts needed can't be sourced elsewhere. Even if the price went up a bit I'm sure enough people would be on board for this to be worthwhile to DSS
Sure, anything is possible for a price. The challenge is making the passenger side inner tulip with long shaft, speedo gearing, etc. Making 20 sets is not worth their time if they are making hundreds (even thousands) of axles for other applications. Back when they made one of our previous group buys they took longer than expected and said the delays were cause they were making as many charger/challenger axles they could.

3D design, printing and CNC aren’t magic wands that create parts. There are costs attached that include, R&D, software, hardware, machines and the time of skilled individuals that factor into production costs.
These things are figured after a project makes it past the ones who decide if it is worth doing. Lack of profitability kills it before it can start.
Good Vibes don’t pay the bills.
Die and punch with decent hydraulic press would make the forgings but sure would need multiple of billet reheating plus tooling cool downs+graphite hand sprayer+finish machine turning....$$$..idk but if there's a
will there is always a way!
