You need to drive out the hinge pin.

It's a 3/16 inch roll pin. If you ahve a roll pin punch that size it helps.

Back in the 1990's I had a tool for this, but someone borrowed it and it never returned. It looked like a C clamp, or small ball joint tool that was open on one end, had the proper size punch and a hex to turn it with a wrench.

I would spray the pins down with a good penetrating fluid a few days before too, I when I did my car a few years ago it was seized on and I ended up damaging the door part of the hingd. Was a PITA to fix.

there's a trick to doing the lower pin

you drive it part way out , then cut off the part that is exposed below the hinge

you have to cut it because driveing the pin down out of the hinge rams the pin into the rocker panel

which means you need to buy pins before you start

there were 2 diff pins early L body and later L body

also you must be carefull to have the door well supported and held steady - your going to need a helper

you must be very carefull to avoid bending either half of the hinge that is welded to the door or the post as this will ruin the door allignment on the car

cryco used to have a special hinge bending tool for alligning the doors
