Sure it is, he gave an FWD link. Years ago when FM was screwing people over, if he'd have posted an FM link to parts, I would have advised him not to buy from them. Whats the difference?

That is question #1 before you go buy new rods. Sheesh. Nobody is blinking at eye at a rod breaking? WTF? How much engine chaos can occur before we start figuring out why before buying replacement parts?

Im betting it has something to do with whatever killed your I-shaft. Things are not looking good inside that engine.
I guess I was assuming at that point the engine needed completely overhauled. But yeah my fault for assuming.

As for what caused it, near as I can tell, nut backed off rod bolt for some reason. Not sure if bearing wear came before or after. I know I torqued all the nuts down properly.

Only damage to block I could find was a small chip out of the area where the intermediate shaft bearing is. Not enough to worry about.

    Damn! That sucks to see.

If needbe, the 2.2 CB cast cranks stand up to a bunch of power, so don't sweat it too much if you don't come across a forged piece. Sometimes they can be bought reconditioned from a parts store, complete with the correct sized bearings.

Wow. Agreed, crank is junk. Is that the nut sitting in the pan?

If you reuse that pan, remove the sound deadening material, metal etc will be trapped and you can't get it out.

Yep, I can't break one, and Larry B which is 700 whp 2.5 is using a cast crank also. Another added bonus is they are lighter, so it will rev even faster.
