Climate control sensor

Where is the climate control temp sensor in my 87 NY? Are they replaceable? I have good heat for 5 min and then it goes lukewarm. Im wanting to either replace it and see if that helps or add a switch that is wired to make the climate control think it is cold.

one sensor is in the intake for the heaterbox, It just pulls straight out. you should be able to access it though the engine bay with the crawl and wiper stuff removed.

oh and the other one is around the drivers cluster. you'll see a small vent, its hooked to a small electric air pump witch pulls cabin air from around the driver and past the sensor.

That sounds to me that it could need the coolant bleeding/burping.

Id bet its the aspirator motor. the sensor is getting heat soaked.

What is the aspirator motor? The fan motor? I tear into it on lunch tommarow and see if I cant move the in car sensor farther away without much trouble.

I dont think it needs burped, it puts out good heat for a bit and then goes luke warm. Heatsoaking makes perfect sense too.

the aspirator is part of the in car air temperature sensor assembly, its a little motor with a fan that sucks in air from around the driver. the motor is of toy quality, you usually hear it buzzing with the system on.
