    plastic distributor cover

Is there a difference in the plastic distributor cover for the early ('85 and earlier) and later ('86 up) styles of distibutor?

I have an '85 TI engine that I'm working on and the plastic distributor cover does not seem to fit just right. I think it's probably a cover from a later engine.

They should be different. The 84-5 dizzy is tall, compared to the short obese 86+ turbo version.

Makes sense. I hope that local wrecking yard this has that '85 Lancer ES Turbo.

I'm pretty sure the cap for the 85 turbo is different from the 84 and not the same height.

Jeremy, I would just grab whatever ones you find and test. Although Chrysler did a few things that shouldn't have been done, I can see them making a dist. cover that could be used across multiple years to keep it simple.
