hey guy i have a stock 1987 csx. how can i delete the airbox? it looks to me like the engine draws through the computer. is there a way to go with a different maf? im trying to get alot more power out of this engine.

There is no MAF on these cars. It draws air through the computer to help with cooling for the computer. Many people have removed the airbox and done a custom cone filter and tubing with no issues.
ph ok thanks. that makes it alot more simple. will the computer overheat without the air drawing through it?
In hot temperatures yes the Power Module can overheat. As long as it is in the stock location, even without the air box it should be OK.
Since nice condition stock CSX parts are coming harder to find, anything you take off of it be sure to hang onto!

any tips on getting more boost? do these cars have a knock sensor? i have a 87 grand national making 22 lbs of boost with an alky injection could u do that with these?

i was thinking maybe 225 to 250 horsepower out of this stock motor. in the meantime ill be looking for another turbo II to build. im only boosting 7lbs now is this normal?
Stock is about 7-9 ish with the Stage II Logic Module it will run ~12psi. how many miles on it? if the catalytic converter is plugged it may run less?
