LM/PM to SMEC wiring.
Note: This is using a 1987 T2 LM/PM harness, and a 1988-89 T2 SMEC harness
With every harness I build, I become more and more efficient with this conversion.
There was trouble with Pin #11 in the "L" body harness.
This is a brake signal that goes to the LM for cruise control equipt vehicles.
The engine compartment connector in Pin #11 is deleted, along with the wire.
However, the connector on the interior side of the bulkhead connector is left untouched,
as it is where the high mount brake light circuit will be completed.
(ie; the engine bay side has only one 18WT/TN wire, and the interior side has two wires. PITA figuring out, but I got it! lol)
Also, note the W/S wiper wiring as well.
The entire W/S wiper/washer harness of the "L" body harness is left untouched, other than the ground(18BK) wire,
which is simply cut and soldered to the ground wire(18BK) of the "G" body W/S wiper/washer harness after it is cut.
This is really useful, in that the "L" body uses a completely different method to pass the wiper/washer wiring into the cowl.
("L" body owners know the little black "wire-pass thingy" I'm talking about. lol)
The "G" bodies apparently use an actual grommet to pass these wires through the body metal to the cowl.
I sure hope anyone who attempts this procedure finds this diagram useful.
Here's a copy of the 40-pin bulkhead connector I.D.,
after the modified SMEC harness installation.
Here's a link to a folder of several pics of the process:

Here's a thread I posted in while doing some figuring, it may help others:

I may start a "Services Offered" thread if there's enough interest.

Thanks, in advance.
Have a great day TMers!
