Got everything set up to run LED bulbs for turn signals front and rear. New electronic flasher from Oreilly's for $12. Was the only one they keep in stock for the Spirit. Once I found the factory flasher, plugged in the new one, installed the LED bulbs and everything works, no hyperflash or anything.

Re: 91 Spirit R/T build thread

I remember long ago having to sand the tach needle on my Spirit (circa 2002) and I was really annoyed by the whole thing. It looks funny now since I just left it as is AND it was a swapped dash from a higher model acclaim where I installed the original Speedo that was less sunbleached or whatever.

Got the stock PCV set up connected to the distributor hole. No longer do I push oil out dipstick under boost. So been getting on it a little harder. 1st gear is pointless once you get past 3500RPMs even at 3/4 throttle. Waiting on my cal from boostbutton before I try making any wide open throttle pulls.

Forgot an addition. Installed the EBC Sport slotted/dimpled rotors and ebc green stuff pads right after I got motor running again.

Started to replace most of the factoy lights with LEDs. Had to go back to regular bulbs in front turn signals. Wouldn't work when headlights were on due to the bulb out monitoring these cars have.

New LEDs in the guage cluster

LED in cigarette lighter and the ashtray light(red reflection off head unit)

    LED Dome light

Got a new exhaust installed. Coffin Muffler

Whaat the inside of muffler looks like

And new odometer gear so odometer works again and started installing my red needles. Waiting on new speed sensor and speedo gear to place speedo needle.

Re: 91 Spirit R/T build thread

Been a while since I updated. Not much else has changed other than the re-location to Nebraska in March.

I did get my Boost Button Cal installed. Seemed to run a lot better. Motor didn't vibrate/rattle interior as much, but as soon as you got into boost the A/F ration when dead rich pegging out my A/F gauge. Drove it like that for a few weeks, was only getting 20-21mpg, all highway, running 93 oct with 10% ethanol. Not sure how much the tune caused that, but last night I put the old Neil Emiro chip back in and will see how it does this week driving to work. My commute to work is 56 miles each way with a 75mph speed limit for most of the drive.

On the drive from Cali to Nebraska on the Neil Emero cal it got 28mpg the one tank I actually checked it.

Valve cover grommet in the distributor hole, a threaded barbed fitting pushed into it threads first since I couldn't find a fitting with barbs on each side that was the correct size, thhen a hose going from the barbed fitting to the stock oil separator.

When I bought the rotors, I got them for $80 shipped. I actually paid more for the pads than the rotors. Good luck finding the rotors for under $150. Was a special on Amazon that ended the day after I bought mine.

Re: 91 Spirit R/T build thread

Well, today the passenger side CV finally gave up. Still turns and the car can drive, but car shakes. When I got hom I jacked up the car and as you turn the wheels you can watch the motor/trans shift side to side. I have the full Polybushings.com engine and trans mounts, so it's not bad mounts.

Doesn't sound like axle to me, but I suppose it could be.

Sounds like a blown inner joint to me,

Re: 91 Spirit R/T build thread

When I did the motor swap, the paassenger CV joint came apart and I pushed it back together. I'm assuming something didn't line back up right. It's done the shaking off and on since then, but this time it didn't get better with driving.

Definitely the axle. Inner joint in the passenger axle. Installed the new one I had in my garage. All better now after some cussing trying to get axle separated from support bearing.

Blew turbo due to clogged inline filter I had on oil supply line for turbo.

So since it's down waiting on turbo, I removed the windshield to fix the leaking rusted top seal.

Not much worse than losing a turbo to a filter which is supposed to help save it.

Filter kit that I came up with and sold through Relentless Performance, never had a failure.

Try plugging that up, never liked those tiny filters.
