I thought I would start a thread for megasquirt information specific to the 2.0/2.4 engines.
Feel free to post your questions, answers, setups, tips, tricks etc. here. I'm hoping to learn as much as I can.

AZ Shadow has it on his 8v and I'm installing it on my 2.4, so between the two of us we ought to be able to answer any questions. We both got the MS3 w/MS3X. He's running batch fire fuel injection with individual coils and I'm running sequential fuel injection with the waste spark factory coil. I've been trying to get it started for the past two days. I made some wiring errors but that's all worked out. Now it won't start but it sounds like a timing/programing issue. It sounds like I need to turn the distributor to get it to start but I don't have one so I just have to adjust the cal. Lots of features/options in Tuner Studio, the software to program MS. I'm really excited about all the options available in there.
Thanks, AJ.
Keep us updated!
Looks like from what you and DJ are telling me is that I will still need the resistor board for low impedance injectors even with the MS3X.

Subscribed...very interested in this also.
You don't want a resistor board, you want the Peak & Hold driver http://www.jbperf.com/p&h_board/v2_0_1.html. You technically don't NEED it if you fire your low z injectors batch fire, only sequentially. But it wouldn't hurt to get it for batch fire. Also keep in mind the board comes as a kit, you have to assemble it. It's a little intimidating at first but the instructions are clear and there is a way to test it when you're done to make sure you did it right.
You should really look into this Mike. If you aren't comfortable assembling it just ship it to me and I'll do it for you. This way you can run your Low Z injectors properly in batch or be ready to go sequential if you can't get those big boys to idle.

Mike, do you have injectors already? Might be worth it to start with high impedance if not.

The IDs are high Z aren't they?
I have these sitting on my desk. They are 1000cc high impedance from AUS injection.
I was thinking of going with low impedance for the faster reaction and idle quality, and probably go for something bigger than these.
I've seen 1200cc low impedance Delphi's for as low as $55 each

That was my situation. I already had the low z 120's. So it was either buy and assemble the $95 driver or spend $800 on high z injectors. I opted for the the $95 and assembling the board was actually fun. When I got done I was like, "Maybe I should have saved some money and built my own MS."
Sorry, Thats what I meant when I was referring to the resistor board. Thanks!

I am pretty much starting from a clean slate. I currently have 83lb injectors, and I know they will not be big enough for my goals, so I think I am buying injectors no matter what.

So Mike, do you plan on running sequential fuel injection or batch fire? Are you going to run a single coil, waste spark (like the T-III or 2.0/2.4), or coil on plug? What engine are you putting this on?

Is it an SRT-4 2.4? If so you'll be able to use whatever base cal I come up with and it'll save you the aggravation I'm going through now. Are you still going to go with the high z injectors?
Thanks for the offer! I am using an early block and am planning to use DJ's file for a base cal. I am planning to use the high-z injectors.

AJ,
Do you have a reliable quadspark diagram? The instructions on DIY autotune seem to show 4 inputs and 4 outputs.
Thanks!

The DIY instructions are pretty straight forward http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_arti..._quadspark.htm unless you're installing it on a V-8 then you need two Quad-Sparks. You got the MS3X expansion card right? If not you're stuck using a single coil. Are you using the stock Neon Coil or are you going Coil On Plug? Page 19 of the MS3X manual http://www.msextra.com/doc/pdf/MS3XV...rdware-1.3.pdf along with the DIY Quad-Spark instruction I posted explain it all. If that doesn't help you post your question with a little more detail because I'm confused about what you're confused about.
