    So what was the big heatsink for exactly?
    I still haven't even opened mine. But now that Miles has been getting me trained on some electronics work, maybe i could do at least the display swap.

    The waste heat is at least 0.924 Watts. (P = I V = 0.077 x 12) That's enough to need a heat sink. Maybe not as big as what it has, but if there's some things that this does that end up requiring more power then it'll reject more heat.

    Ok, I was just wondering if some specific functions created a bunch of heat.
    I've never noticed mine getting very warm.
