I had a 2.5" Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator on my N/A Neon. TTI long tube header with a 2.5" mandrel bent Trubendz straight pipe to the resonator at the bumper....it was surprisingly quiet....never droned either and had a nice roar at WOT with none of the rice rasp. I imagine on a turbo 2.x car it would be even quieter.
I recently installed a Hearthrob HVS series muffler on my TIII with 3" from the turbo back and it made a huge difference, drone is gone, way quieter at highway speed and no noticeable horsepower loss.
Just had a 2.5 walker 21336 stainless steel muffler installed. This is the muffler for a 1997-1999 dakota with v6 or v8. Good sound at idle, no drone, quiet at cruise. Probably too quiet for this crowd. Being that it's for a v6/v8 it should flow pretty good. Car does not feel any slower.
