Turn signal and 4 way flashers

    Hi Guys,

I purchased a 1992 Daytona R/T (love the engine) but I cannot seem to figure out why the turn signals and 4 way flashers don't work. I have changed the switch, the relay behind the knee bolster, by the driver's right knee position. There IS power going to the fuse box, 100% of all fuses accounted for and functioning. Please advise with some tips!

These systems are balanced/timed by the resistances of the bulbs and the side markers, any one bulb or marker out or wrong wattage they can be messed up. Sockets are likely to be full of green fur unless scrubbed bright with brass brush and alcohol, protected with silicone electrical grease after.

I will try that as well, rubbing alcohol I got that. I suppose a brass brush can be had at a home depot.

Yah, you can use a steel one carefully, they're just harsher on the metal and plastic of the socket.

I wonder if a gun cleaning "toothbrush" would work also. It is less abrasive than the brass one.

    What switch did you replace?

When my Omni was doing the same thing I had to replace the entire turn-signal/hazard switch module behind the steering wheel. Pulled the wheel and had to cut open the harness bundle to replace everything. Afterward replaced the hazard fuse and all was well.

I just replaced the turn signal switch only. NAJ sent me a message with some info I need to decode and figure out what it means. I really need to be an electrician, many mysteries would be soldved!

I don't know a lot about the 90-93 wireing but I do know people have had a lot of issues because of the connectors in the dash pod being faulty

I'm not sure if your 90 uses the same funky turn sig switch in the left side of the cluster pod but if so those connectors may be your issue if you can't find any other cause

Ohhhh yah, did that so long ago I forgot about it. When the broken chicken leg feels like breaking chicken legs in a bucket of gravel, it's maybe busted up inside. Though you won't tell by feel unless thoroughly used to it's "normal" feel, which already feels broken to anyone used to other makes.

Re: Turn signal and 4 way flashers

I couldnt find anything more spacific, this is about my headlight issue,i have a 1991 dodge stealth, and have a question, have hide-away headlights, other than the light switch opening the headlight buckets, theres a button on the dash panel that opens them also,it doesnt work when the headlights are on,theres a lens in front of the headlight bucket,if i manually close the headlight bucket with the headlights on,light shines thru the lens, looks really bad --- with the buckets closed,is there any way to bypass the headlight switch as far as opening the buckets, and enable the button on my dash panel to open the headlight buckets when the headlights are on? thanks for your time, please respond to my email if you can, otherwise i may have a problem finding this answer, new at this.....zappyjan4@gmail.com....thanks again
