    High idle after motor swap.

Just got the boost button cal from rob and did the first initial fire up of the engine. Check the oil pressure and was gonna set the timing but Its idling over 2500 at the moment. I tried setting the base idle like you would and back the set screw out and after making a large vac leak all to no avail. Before going in and trying to mess with the cal. The new motor has a bigger 52mm throttle body. I'm using the stock tps off the 42mm tb ans the stock AIS and motor off the 52mm throttle body. Any other ideas. A large vac leak would do this but I have 20in of vac even at the high idle

The plunger for the AIS motor looks to be the correct size comparing it to the smaller tb I have and when u pulled it apart the plunger was against the seat or closed trying to slow idle down it seems.

TII 2 piece intake manifold? Did you plug the bolt hole on the bottom side?

The one that the support bracing runs to. Couple inches upstream of the TB on the bottom side

Pretty sure I missed that. Prolly should buy a support bracket or make one.

Support brace on TII manifold totally overkill IMO. Ive lifted motors with the rear attach point on the manifold without the brace no problem.

That is correct. I usually put some thread tape or putty around it for good measure. But nine times out of ten, idle that high is a major vacuum leak such as that bolt hole. Rule that out before messing with the idle control on the throttle body.

Re: High idle after motor swap.

Was the hole that was causing the high idle, can't believe I overlooked it but glad it was a simple fix. Thanks for the help. Now I can do timing and set idle and all that good stuff. Thanks for the help guys.

I think we've all been fooled by that one somewhere in a past build

I have never had a two piece on any of my other setups but I'm glad it's running. Weird compression at the moment tho but it hasn't run for long
