are early 525 axles same length as 523s?

I have an 85 daytona with 525 and equal length axle setup. I noticed my jackshaft (intermediate axle) one of the nuts stripped out. I wna put my car together. Would a long shaft from a 523 be the same length and usuable in its place if i cant tap the bolt hole or something to repair my jackshaft before i fill the trans with oil.

Length isn't the problem. You can not use A523 shafts with the A525 transmission, the shafts physically will not fit inside the transmission.

Yeah the inner splines changed to a larger size in 86 on the k-based stuff. Outer splines never changed.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?
