I thought the Shelby Lancers had a boost gauge to the left of the gauge cluster replacing the info center.

Mine does not. I just saw a pic of a Lancer turbo and thought that was a good idea and wondered why the Shelby Lancers didn't have one.

Welcome to TM.com Homeless, I think you will find the backseat really spacious on the Shelby Lancers, which will be very useful for your living arrangements I've had two of them back in the day and am buying my first one back in the next couple years from the guy I sold it to more than 10 years ago. My cousin lives in Medford and looked at your Lancer a few days before you bought it, he passed on the deal because of the ring seating/smoking problem. How bad is it? What are your plans for the car other than spirited driving? BTYW, great balance on the SL's, better than L bodies for sure, 4 wheel drifts are very controlable

Did your cousin look at the car in person ? It was in gazelle,CA. I thought I was the first person to check it out in person , he must have been on it quick ! I contacted the seller a few hours after he posted it and had it loaded up a few days later.
I haven't had the chance to check out the engine. It ended up needing a new brake MC so I'm replacing that and flushing the lines at the moment. What battery should this car have ?
I was a little concerned about the ring problem at first but the seller had all receipts and they were in line with his story. Super nice guy, I'm sure it just needs to be rehoned at the most.
It will be a daily driver for my wife
By the way , I'm in Medford too, who's your cousin ?
He and his dad (my mom's sisters husband) own/operate Heritage Motors for the last 30 years. Drop by and Ask for Dave, he's had a buncha turbo Mopars and Shelby's over the years.

Yea , I've seen a few Shelby's there , just a few months ago they had a Shelby Dakota.
I'm anxious to see what's up with this engine but I still need a battery. I was in a hurry yesterday while in town and couldn't decide on one lol. Now I have to wait a few days until I head that way again.
I drained the "oil" which ended up being a pan full of water. I'm guessing it was parked without anti freeze and at some point it froze. I pulled the pan and confirmed it is a fresh engine , what a shame ..
Damn...... what a bummer. Maybe a hone will take care of the cylinders but..... everything else is just a shame.
There might be hope for it still. The filter did not have any water in it so I don't think it was ran with the water in it , and the upper rad hose had nice green coolant. So I don't know how the clear water made it's way in to the pan.
I found out where the water was coming from. The hood vent has a water tray under it that drains the water to the side of the engine. There was a broken bolt on the tray so it hung down allowing water to run down the front of the engine and seep in to the oil pan because it wasn't sealed.
I fired it up today ! It started right up ! It has a ton of exhaust coming out of the valve cover and dip stick tube and it is over heating. The tach and fan aren't working...
That tray was one of the 1st things I took off
Tachs not working is pretty common. Usually an easy enough fix, but I'd make the fan a priority.
I checked the CTS voltage today. It went down to less than 2 so I shut it off. It was definitely too hot. From what I've read it is supposed to turn on at 2.1v...
Looks like the brake light plug. It should plug onto a connector on the distribution block of the braking system.
