    foam for heater box restoration

Does anyone have a source for the soft foam used to seal the various doors in the heater box?

Yep. Go to your local Ace Hardware store and buy the 1/4" foam prefilter for a window A/C unit. It's like $1.59 for a 16" X 25" sheet. That should be enough to do your heater box. The stuff works great!!!

That's what I used when I replaced the heater core on a Shelby CSX last year. I work in apartment maintenance and we regularly install/replace wall-sleeve A/C units that come with a variety of foam insulation strips. I use the kind with the adhesive backing on one edge. Worked great.

This guy has the pieces for the heater core and AC unit where they seal against the firewall. They're not listed on the website, so you'll have to call or email him. But he made them for my Charger last spring, and they're real nice. He was going to look into making complete kits for the heater boxes, but the project kind of fizzled out due to such a small market. But best I can tell, at least the firewall seals are the same throughout all our cars.

A kit would be wonderful. all the thick 2" stuff rots into a goo pre cut gaskets for the intake and output.
