    Turbo 3L Spirit R/T

About time I started a build thread for my Spirit R/T. Since I am starting a repaint I am contemplating different spoiler.

    Here are some under consideration.

Need more details! 12v or 24v, manual or auto, Stock electronics or MS? Spoilers are for AFTER you can do 120mph on the back straight...

I know it's a personal choice, but I personally like the understated small lip spoiler that was stock on R/T's.

Shadow24, surprised you don't already know more about this car!

    From memory, it's a 12v 3.0-swapped R/T with 5spd, turbocharged with a t04b off a gm 6.5 diesel using Ed's rear-mount exhaust manifold, with an e-manage blue piggyback.

I may have heard about it previously, but front-of-mind for ed's cars is his 3.5 turbo shadow...or I'm just getting old...

Very close I the turbo t04b is from a 90's Ford Diesel. The car ran at Drag Week last year and pulled a VERY clutch limited 14.0. I will try and pull the details in from other threads. I had been daily driving it, but right now the Shadow is running fine right now so the Spirit is down for some paint work...

The car is not a "true" R/T anymore so I am looking to visually separate it... Plus the stock type spoiler I have is in poor condition. I could recondition it, but right now I am considering other options. Right now my top favorites are the first and third spoilers... My wife and son are big fans of the third spoiler... (my son is 15 and is eyeing the Spirit as a car he could possibly drive...)

    Re: Turbo 3L Spirit R/T

I don't think I like any of them a lot but the first one might look better in my head if it was the right color. Surprised you have 3 wings sitting around to even test.

Sadly I think when doing a wing I would prefer a park bench ricer style of a wing. I don't like the 3rd wing sitting so low. All or nothing. I bought a stock r/t wing to use someday because I also really like the barely visible wing.

Guessing you want to use those because you have them..

Looking on google, I kinda like a "cobra R" wing but it feels like its too small wing wise with giant thick posts. I love the below wings with a lot of side area.

But I think with the square rear end of the car it would look cool to have more of a "combat wing" or better yet the type of wing they have on a Viper race car.

Combat wing, I think it could look better on a square rear end car

And I would prefer this. To me the ends fill in the square rear of the car are are outrageous enough to be awesome.

And I might like this one even better with its square ends to the FWD and less curved wing.

And the drag racing or sorta land speed wing. This is on a square car.

IMO there's basically bugger all but turbulence down there on the trunk lip and if you need downforce because the front tires are getting too much grip, you have to go up in the air. For overall aero, I'd say you want something on top of the rear window, (Hatchback style) that aims just at the edge of the trunk, then have a clean edge separation at trunk. (i.e. one of those trunk lip/edge ones that looks almost like quarter round coving stuck on the edge)

Could an OE Shadow spoiler be made to fit?

    Re: Turbo 3L Spirit R/T

Probably wouldn't look too good. The shadow trunklid slopes down and the spirit lid is basically flat so it would give the spoiler too much rake if i had to guess.

This thread needs an update with more car info/plans besides spoilers. What's the next clutch going to be?

The paint work is done. Just giving it time before I wet sand and polish.

    Awesome!!

    That dual friction looks toasty.

Any sense of how the new pressure plate compares to stock or any other upgraded plate?

    Re: Turbo 3L Spirit R/T

The prior clutch got toasted during Drag Week. When I attempted a burnout, the clutch slipped...

The red pressure plate is supposed to be Clutchnet's heaviest.

Please let me know how the pedal pressure compares. It would be exciting if they finally got the "racing" plate right.

Looks like you didn't go with any of your first wing choices?

The pedal pressure is not bad. It is a little "funny" in that near the engagement point the pressure changes. So if you are sitting at a light with the pedal in, the pressure is not as bad as if it was linear throughout the range... Initially I was was odd, but now I don't even notice it...

Actually I did. The wing on the car is choice 3 from above....
