I just put them on for a street legal track event. Does anyone have any suggestions on using them at the track? Tire pressure, burnout proceedure, launch rpm etc.

My personal technique was a short burnout and about 25 psi. I dropped 8/10ths from the previous street tire run.
Someone over at TD suggested 16 psi with a huge smokey burnout.

You know track preperation has alot to do with it. The last thing you want to hear is "try all kinds of things and experiment." I'm just saying what worked for me.
Do you remember what your 60 foot times were?

I cant remeber the Psi but its was a small burn out and the trans came out shortly after so Im not sure on how much they helped since the trans was slipping so bad.Or if it was the added traction to help the trans go.
Not nearly as good as your car can do.
I think 2.3 or something. It was down from 2.4-5 My car was a one wheeler at the time, went from 14.8 to 14.0. I had traction problems into 3rd before the drag radials. So in my case the improvement showed up at 330ft, not just 60ft.
Thanks. I am just looking for a place to start. I hope I can get to the track to test them out before the big event on thursday.

Well good luck. Something I did notice was they were best when brand new and worsened as more runs were made on them- again, just my notes.
Scott, from the tire engineer... Drop them to 13 psi and heat them up....

I found the hotter they were, the better they stuck. 25 psi is way too high.

treat them like they were slicks.
i cut 2.100 on G-Forces at 15 psi.
next time out on full M&H slicks at 15 psi i only improved to a 1.999.
so for me the tires were close in performance.
I ran them on my Daytona. I was running 15 to 18 psi, no burnout, just spun them to clean off the tread. May of worked even better with a burnout, I don't know. I was pulling 2.0's 60's, and running consistant 8.20's in the 1/8 @ 90mph+. They had better than street radial holeshot traction, but not great. I was still spinning all through 1st gear (auto trans.) but not as bad. And I still had to stage the boost. But once I banged 2nd gear, they handled 26psi+ no problem at all, and the car would HAUL!!!!
I haven't had a chance to use them on the Horizon, but on the SRT, I started at 25 and worked my way down to 15 psi. I did a burnout until I had a moderate amount of smoke visible, maybe 5-7 seconds worth,(if that makes sense). Thats the procedure that worked best for me.
That's odd you all use lower tire pressure....I used the "read your burnout" technique and came to 25 psi Maybe more heat will help me out.
I ran them on my RT. about 15 psi of pressure, short burnout, just enough to heat them up. Did 2.01 60 ft times.

Cindy
We ran a set on the NYer for a season. If I remember right, 18-20psi was where we ran them (205/50/15). Looking back at the data, we were pretty consistent with 2.0X 60ft times on them. I usually did a pretty good burnout on them (they weren't my tires...lol..). Switching to 22" slicks dropped the 60ft times to 1.9's.

I had em on my Chevelle running 18lbs, I know totally different car....
But I did find that too much burnout made em kinda greasy and would wind up losing a lot of traction..
I ended up running them at 15 psi with a mild burnout. I cut a 2.0 60 foot and managed to get a 12.8 @ 110 mph. I made a two stage boost controller for them. I launched at 16 psi and then backed off the gas until they started to hook up and then I flipped to 22 psi, floored it and then shifted to second. If I can repeat this on thursday I will be happy.

I always ran around 20psi in the tires and just spun the tires enough to clean them off with my old Daytona and Shelby Charger. I think I had a 2.0 60' with every pass where the clutch held... down from 2.2-2.3 60's
