    interpreting the "Body Code Plate"

T-M Team, I have several questions about interpreting the "Body Code Plate".

    1) Can anyone post a working link for a comprehensive identification of the Body Code Plate codes?
    OR
    2) can someone explain more than the meager description in the FSM, the Body Code Plate as follows (excluding the VIN 1C3XJ45A2KGxxxxxx - bottom right line 1, and "END" in line 5)
    AND
    3) Can anyone simply say what the original factory steering rack 5-speed TII GTC/16" characteristics 'should have been'?:

Not to steer you away, but I think at one time Alpar had a body code sheet. I copied/pasted it to my old computer, if I can find the link/info Ill post up

The factory service manuals will have translations for each year at the beginning of the main book.

This is a very rough scan, but it could be of use to you. I think you'll have to open it up in a new tab to blow it up to full size.

Re: interpreting the "Body Code Plate"

    JFG- turbo vacuum boost gauge

MWC- I don't have it on my sheet, but MWB and MWD are on there. They're spoiler type I and spoiler type II

NAE- Emissions control testing and label

    AGT- Turbo package

    CAC- Bucket Seat Low Back

    CGT- not on my sheet

    CUF- Full length front console

    DDT- 555 manual transaxle

HAB- A/C with auto temp control-frt

That's all I could make of it.

Re: interpreting the "Body Code Plate"

    Thanks all. I appreciate it.
The FSM (I have '86, '87 and '89) is totally inadequate to "interpret" the codes.
I think the full translation, if available, would make a wonderful "sticky"!
    I'll keep watching.
    Best - Andy
