anyway to run an original stock sbec1 t3 cal in his car. obviously you'ld have to change map/injectors out but it may be worth it to try to isolate the issue to a mechanical or hardware or software problem.

Its a flashable ecu and cable you did for me. It restarts no problem and if I catch it quick enough and increase the throttle it clears up and runs fine. I believe my ecu started out as a 90 sbec t1 5 speed out of my old van. When I first got it running and before I flashed the chip I don't remember this problem so it could be something I did? Ive adjusted the pumpeff table and wot fuel I dont think I altered anything else. Thanks and sorry to hijack this thread.

If it starts back up, I don't think it's the flash being corrupted. It must be the cal itself.

What cal are you using?

Talked to my buddy, the OP. The car shuts off about everytime he drives the car, he is getting really annoyed with it doing this.
Rob, Please let me know if you need anything else to solve this problem, you should have a few cals to look at now.

I'm remembering something like this where it turned out the dizzy was loose, stayed running on stock cal with the "random" timing, but didn't on upgrade.

It could be something else? Cutting out like that is the sign of a hep going bad.

I believe the hep may be my issue. I drove the car down to yorktown yesterday and on I64 the car completely quit twice requiring a restart and never went longer than 10 miles without a problem. Took route 5 back and only had two missing spells. I guess the 75+ mph makes the issue worse. Ive got at least 4 spares. I'll swap one in. Going to bow out of this thread sorry for the hijack.

car stalls at least once everytime I drive it. seems to happen while cruising and lightly backing off the throttle but not all the way. never stalls under acceleration or completely off the throttle. we have reflashed my car many times while adjusting the tune and always does the same thing.

91 spirit rt with tiii motor im running a holset he351 turbo with evo 560cc injectors at 50 psi. car runs rich at wot, still working on pulling fuel out but at cruising speed and idle it runs right at 14.5-14.8 afr. while just cruising at a constant speed it will run just fine nice and smooth then car just shuts off. if i leave it in gear and flip the key off, then back to run it fires right up and i can continue like nothing happened. only happens when cruising, doesnt miss or cut out during normal acceleration/deceleration or when wot. Any ideas? already reflashed car multiple times and it continues.

also after reflashing the ecu my radiator fan stopped coming on, not sure if its related or something else. was opperating fine before reflash.

It runs whatever timing you have in the WOT timing table.

There is an issue with the flash module that can cause it to be corrupted. It has to have the software data protection (SDP) enabled by the flash program. If the flash doesn't finish correctly, then that might happen.

Try downloading the .asm I just posted in the TIII thread and re-compiling using that.

Yep it shuts off. I can restart it while its rolling. I've never had to recal the flash module. I only mention the flash module because someone else did in this thread. I think its either my soldering job, or some other electrical problem. Seems like every K-car I've ever driven has had at one time or another various "shuts off while driving" issues and I seem to notice alot of that on the forums with other people too.

You can also try taking out the flash module and putting a 87C257 chip in it's place with the same cal. That will tell if it's the module/SDP or the cal itself or the ECU.

me and doubled tried downloading the new asm file but everytime we went to compile the file we go an error message. so we had to download the old file to continue tuning
