car stalling while cruising after mptune turbonator tiii flash

91 spirit rt with tiii motor im running a holset he351 turbo with evo 560cc injectors at 50 psi. car runs rich at wot, still working on pulling fuel out but at cruising speed and idle it runs right at 14.5-14.8 afr. while just cruising at a constant speed it will run just fine nice and smooth then car just shuts off. if i leave it in gear and flip the key off, then back to run it fires right up and i can continue like nothing happened. only happens when cruising, doesnt miss or cut out during normal acceleration/deceleration or when wot. Any ideas? already reflashed car multiple times and it continues.

also after reflashing the ecu my radiator fan stopped coming on, not sure if its related or something else. was opperating fine before reflash.

Happens every 6 miles or so (10km)? How are you flashing the ECU? Using MP Tune 2?

I also have this issue. Using mptune with bb flashable chip and robs cable. This is 3bar 8v sbec.

Try re-flashing the cal. It should be setting the security bits when it flashes.

DD - is joe's car still cutting out? if so do you have any logs when this happens? have you experienced the problem at all in your car? it seems weird that if the cals are basically the same that joe has issues and you don't, other than you have an sbec2 and he has an sbec1 (same as wallace!?!)

i assume you scaled for a 3 bar map also?

His was still cutting out last time I tuned it. I'll try and get a log next time this happens. I have never experienced this problem in my R/T.

I scaled for 3 bars, both cars are running over 20 lbs of boost,

It could be something else? Cutting out like that is the sign of a hep going bad.

These are TIII cars, there is no HEP, there is a cam sensor and a crank sensor and a dual coil. there is no HEP like the 8 valve motors.

Just to be clear - it's cutting out and then not re-starting correct? Won't re-start until you re-flash it?

No, it's shutting off the engine, the car will restart right away either by stopping and restarting or just flipping the key off and then back on while driving. Never did this before installing the BB ecu.

I have a similar issue with an 8v cal. Havent verified the 6 mile interval but definitely not related to a hep...it only occurs at light cruise.

Its a flashable ecu and cable you did for me. It restarts no problem and if I catch it quick enough and increase the throttle it clears up and runs fine. I believe my ecu started out as a 90 sbec t1 5 speed out of my old van. When I first got it running and before I flashed the chip I don't remember this problem so it could be something I did? Ive adjusted the pumpeff table and wot fuel I dont think I altered anything else. Thanks and sorry to hijack this thread.

Talked to my buddy, the OP. The car shuts off about everytime he drives the car, he is getting really annoyed with it doing this.
Rob, Please let me know if you need anything else to solve this problem, you should have a few cals to look at now.
