    Walbro pump installation issues

It's been at least 10 years since I installed a Walbro pump into a Turbododge, and I don't remember having this many issues.

I removed the entire tank from the car since it was so rusty, it actually leaked. Can't believe I'd ever see that on a Florida car.

So I pulled the hangar, and I can't figure it out for the life of me.

I recall the hangar looking more like this one that RockAuto lists as the one for my car:

I can probably pull the pump out if I tried hard enough, but getting the new one to mount in there seems impossible.
Did the Previous owner try to fix a fuel issue and swap to a non-turbo junkyard version or something?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

That looks like the hanger in my '87 Shadow. I eliminated the regulator looking thing and hooked the hose from the tube on the hanger directly to the pump.

One more thing, Go get 1 ft of 30R10 spec fuel line and use it in place of the curly hose in the kit. The last walbro I got had 30R9 spec hose and is not designed for constant submersion in fuel. If yours has the correct hose, by all means use it.

Did you reuse the original rubber bushing around the pump? The replacement one won't fit in the cradle snugly.

Also, how did you get the original pump out? I've spent the last 45 mins trying with no success.

The first time I drilled out the rivets on the lower part of the hanger... Then pop riveted the hanger back together.
