    Arrow Best cast pistons available?

    Hey Guys,

I am going to replace a piston in my 1989 2.5 cb turbo engine, and I am looking at pistons. Without going forged, what pistons are the best (non hypereutectic)? That are still available to buy of course.

Sealed power vs Clevite? And any others that are good?

    Thanks,
    -Jeff

And for 1989 the pistons had floating pins correct? Do the aftermarket ones have these?

I had Sealed Power pistons in my 2.2, held up fine to 20psi.

The only thing on the market is either forged or hypereutectic pistons. Cast pistons are no longer made and next to impossible to find anymore.

After market pistons do include new pins.

Supposedly the Sealed Power pistons are cast still.

Yes, they still make cast pistons for the 2.2, however, they don't make cast pistons for the 2.5 anymore (which is what the OP has.)

For posterity, the 533P sealed power 2.2 piston is no longer a floating pin piston. I got the last 4 that Fed Mogul had in stock close to 10 years ago. You'll need to find some old stock sitting around some place if you want the floaters.
