    Intake Manifold heli-coil size!

I need to buy a helicoil kit for the intake manifold bolt holes on my 8V head. What size do I need to order? How about the valve cover bolt holes? I need to helicoil them too! Help!!

The manifold bolt holes are 8mm x 1.25 and I'm fairly certain the valve cover bolt holes are 6mm x 1.00.

if your valve cover bolt holes are striped , you can fix it easy if you find som std thread small block or big block dodge valve cover bolts

if you tap them in like you were taping a thread , a little in a little back out , a little more back in etc then you can get the valve cover bolted down without even useing a tap wrench to cut the threads

you'll need sb or bb v c bolts for an aftermarket cast v c to do the corner ones but the standard sheetmetal cover's bolts will work fine for the front and back bolts

and they'll still look like dodge bolts

really IMO Heli-coils are the way to go. You shouldn't ever have any problems with them again if done right and you can use your factory bolts.

    yeah I agree ^
but when you've just installed the v c and get a striped bolt & have no way to repair the thread - then my plan works
