Valve springs for 200-300 HP build

I was wondering if some of you could recommend a good valve spring for the typical 200-300 HP TII build.

Is there one that would cover it all?
What about G-head vs swirl head?
What about slider cam vs roller cam?

Get a set of comps or something from the vendor. You keeping stock valves? Swirl head and a roller cam would be the easiest route

Comp Cams makes a nice S60 type spring, works for all cam types and 8 valve heads. $60 plus shipping.

From stock to modified you can't beat the comp 26995's IMO. I love my 8v with them. It sings above 3500rpms. No more feeling like the engine is going to rip itself apart, the more revs you throw at it the smoother it gets. PT's are a must with them though I feel as well though I think they are a must with stock springs.

I'm running the mp 061? I believe it is with a super 60 roller cam and pt lifters on a +1 swirl head. I'm interested to see how she works too just hoisted the engine in tonight.

$350 is a lot for a set of springs on a stock motor isn't it?

What about the beehive conversion, have you considered that?

Since when are they $350??? And even if they were after running them it's worth that. I've NEVER heard or seen a 2.2/2.5 that sounds or feels like mine after putting them in.

Well your first reply said 26955, which is a double coil all out race spring, roughly 700 for a set of 16. You can see both our confusion.

That's why I sell a regular spring that works great for $60, a good alternative to Beehives which do work awesome,

Re: Valve springs for 200-300 HP build

Cindy sells a set of Crane springs for 59.00 that are Perfect for anything from stock to what I'm running now. (maybe even more?)

I use to spit rockers with the stock roller and 061 MP springs, haven't had 1 spit since setting it up with the Crane springs and F4 cam and I've shifted right of the limiter in 1st and 2nd multiple times

This is the Only spring I run now in everything we build. I believe she also has custom made (snug fitting) CM retainers for these springs, as the stock stuff is really loose

Warren Stramer turned me on to these springs when he told me he was running them with his Taft S3 cam and after 250 passes (if memory serves) he checked them and they were mint, exactly the same #'s as when they went in.

I also am running the Comp 996 beehive springs. LS spring retainers with stock 2.2 keepers and Mopar performance PT lifters and an N/A roller cam. pulls hard all the way up to 6500, like he said 3500 up is where it really shines, I run the old style valve cover without the oil curtain and my valvetrain is whisper quiet on top of that.
