I just got off the phone with the guy that helped build it. And 4 others.
He now owns the one in the ads. He and the car live in Texas.

He says they made 5 cars. My question is are these counted in the 84 Consulier GTP built?
I am aware of 8 targa's made and 2 roadsters. Now there are 5 electric targa's?

I'm still disputing the 84 cars made part and now you throw the 5 electric Consulier's in the mix?

No the Consulier was not in the movie I was saying that making UPS electric was a good idea.
True the batteries were not very good in the early 90's.
The movie shows a older couple that invented a revolutionary battery.
Texaco bought the rights to it then destroyed it…..that is one of the parts that make me upset.

82 / 84 made Dan said 100 I think he was rounding up. I am sticking in the low 80's for sure.
This could be settled by W.M. he knows…. Dan and George should also know the total ,George built every one made he said.
The coolest thing is we have one of a very few left ,treat it good..!

The "electric car" in the movie was a Fiero. Apparently Neilson was an electic car advocate, invested and helped promote the Electricar GT. He is pictured with the maroon car, but the the vehicle in the movie was clearly a Fiero.

From everything I've read and seen even W.M. doesn't truly know how many were made as the number keeps bouncing around.

^^ this would make sense as he wasn't even present during the build years. It was a part time ownership deal for him from what he has said. He would make his $$ trading then roll in after his day job was done.

So that would mean The production mgr would know. And I believe Geoege has said 82 cars. So that probably means 82 chassis which to include electric cars / race cars / intruders / etc..

I guess what I'm really trying to attain is how many were actually SOLD to the public and titled.

I know my car was but most in the "fire sale" were sold on a MSO and never titled.
