I'm gonna be running a custom cal with +40s also. I'm only running a 2.5" exhaust tho.

I appreciate all your efforts! I don't have the means to watch video (dial-up). So the nutshell version is s-60 cam is 18-19 HG idle and F4 camshaft is much more lopey idle at around 14-16 HG. Neither cam was degreed in? Very possible the s-60 cam could be way out of the ballpark with intake centerline since there is no way to adjust. It could also mean that s-60 camshaft doesn't have much duration, hense the pretty high vacuum at idle. The old school slider S-60 degreed in would be around 16" HG at idle. I'll bet the F4 camshaft could lose substancial MPG's unless it is driven at pretty high RPM until it gets into it's intended powerband.

You have it backwards. The F4 cam was 18in hg and s60 16in hg.

You have them backwards, F4 is has more vacuum and is more aggressive. Also, I got 34MPG on drag week 2011 with that F4, I haven't found a down fall to it yet.

Good to know, Thanks for the correction. I got some specs from Cindy on the F4 and couldn't believe the lack of overlap @ .050. Pretty short exhaust duration IIRC. That makes sense then that it idles decent. Only downfall I see is the lack of lift for someone with a cylinder head that flows a bunch above .470 lift.
I recently installed a camshaft in a similar build GLHT. Had .030 more lift and significantly more intake duration than the F4, hense more overlap. Owner is still evaluating, but it pulls like a freight train to 7K+. Initial thoughts were the mileage may have dipped 4-5 MPG on freeway drive home.

Pretty sure the Charger is around 16 vac at idle with the F4 degreed at 115. Charger still get 40 mpg (CND)

yea my cam is not degreed in, just plopped it in and adjusted accordingly. I cant say what MPG the red car gets, the guy drives it like he stole it constantly.
