    Automatic shifter illumination issue

Right so on my 87 Lebaron convertible the automatic shift doesn't illuminate. The people who did my stereo/speaker install said the wires to the light did not have power. Its no big deal EXCEPT at night when I cant just look down and see what gear is lit up.

The fuses are all ok, the bulb is new, just no power to the red wire. Any idea where that wire leads to? Should I just re splice new wire and hook it up to the fusebox where the headlights go into? Remember I am a total novice at all this.

OK, here's the first one. If you view the actual file in my gallery it's very large. It probably won't resize big enough on the page here. Actually it isn't even loading in my browser. Right click on the broken square and open it into a new tab and it'll take you to the large photo.

OK, you only need that one sheet. The orange wire to the bulb is the power. The other one is the ground. If the ash tray light doesn't function then I would work your way back toward the bigger splice. However, since you're only complaining about the one bulb not working I'm assuming that the problem is between the bulb and the connector it's plugged into.

GOT IT! The wire was all sorts of frayed and whatnot. Traced its path along the car and rewired it, now I can see what gear I am in at night! sweet! Thanks!
