Since I bought my SRT4 it came without one. Smog tests are getting tougher around here. My car has stage 3 and Mopar Performance exhaust (with cat-delete pipe). Wich cat would you recommend? Thanks.

Get a Magnaflow one that is the same ID/OD as your exhaust. Is your cat delete pipe flanged to where you can just unbolt it and bolt in a cat or is it welded in? If not I'd recommend getting them flanged so you cann put the cat on for smog test then swap back on the cat delete pipe for everyday driving.
I would agree
The stage kits have a tendency to run rich and plug up the cat
I'd get the biggest one listed on Jegs or Summit Racing to flow better.

I'm running this universal spun cat, #54959...love it, compact for easy install and superb #'s on the state dyno & 5-gas analyzer. went from straight pipe to this, and wouldn't know the difference for performance, outside of the better exhaust note and missing the smell of unburnt fuel! well worth the price.

This is the one I'm considering getting for my PT GT stage 1 for similar reasons. I'm also considering it for the van.
One thing I like is the actually advertise flow numbers. Here is the ebay ad, or you can check out their website.

I've been reading on this forum that Magnaflows don't last long. http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/sh...-CA-smog/page6
Wouldn't a Walker cat be better?
As long as you aren't running extremely rich or burning oil any cat should last a long time.
exactly. I'm running my own tune on a relatively fresh short block, on this cat for just over 2 years. nothing but good things to say. and honestly, don't remember what I spent, might have been $100. would do that again in a shot and still feel like I got my money's worth. priceless to see the face on the techs at in the inspection station, hearing the rumble and thinking they've got a fail coming for sure. classic. nice low #'s surprised even me knowing how I tuned it.
