    '87 glhs #582

Bought this thing back in October from Pennsylvania, havend had time to do much to it yet besides fixing a high idle till you stop completely and installing the 3" TU exhaust. I've put over 10k miles on it since then, runs great. Needs left front floor pan replaced where the heater core leaked inside and rusted it through.

Got third brake light removed from spoiler and a quick paint job on it for now. Will finish after SDAC.

Wow, 10k miles since October? You're driving the wheels off that thing, which I think is awesome. These cars deserve to be driven, keep up the good work!

Well, things were going good on the trip, till we stopped @ a rest area about 80 miles south of Chicago on hwy 57. Got back to the cars & smelled a sulfer smell near mine, checked the battery, so hot it was smoking. Here I was worried about her car breaking down due to all the problems its had, and mine has had almost no problems and she has to go get me a new battery. Voltage from the alternator shows normal, so I guess the battery shorted internally.

Pulled the headliner out this morning to replace the headliner material. Tired of it flapping in the wind.

Spent the day sanding and stripping paint on my GLHS, clear coat was peeling real bad, just trying to make it look descent till I can get the money to repaint the whole car.

Well, she isn't perfect, but looks much than it did before. She's black again, still shooting 5 coats of clear on it. Next week wet sand and buff.

    Getting there.

Changed the timing belt and all other belts. Replaced right side cv & intermediate shaft with a new long shaft.

Cooling fan on radiator died yesterday while I was sitting in it @ lunch. Ordered a "14 aftermarket electric fan to replace it. Was planning this mod anyway so I can run the longer oil filter, just wasn't planning to do the mod while it's so cold out.

    I have a few pics of #0582.
Looks like the last one I have is after you installed the wheels.

That's it, actually those pictures are from the guy I bought it from in Pennsylvania. Even with the few things I've had to fix, I still love driving this better than my 2013 Dodge Dart Limited, fully loaded.
