I'm selling my 1986 Dodge Shelby Charger. With SDAC coming just north of me, you should buy it and have a lot of fun at the show. This is a solid 12-second car as it sits, with a fuel system and big turbo ready for someone to turn it loose and really go fast. While there is much more money into it, I realize I'll never get it all back out. So it is priced at less than half and ready for a quick sale: $4,995.

    Some threads with more background:
    Turbo-Mopar Project Log: http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=43778
    Fuel System Upgrades: http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=15436
Video at track, first 12: http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=43741

    CAR:
Found the car in CT in 2006. It was a clean, almost rust free body with shiny paint. I transferred all the drivetrain and go fast goodies into the car over a 3 year period. It is well sorted out now, and a consistent track performer running 12.60's at 15-16 PSI during 4 trips to the track in the past 5-6 years. Some of the vinyl graphics, like the pin striping around the skunk stripe, were missing or removed from the car when I got it. Interior is amazingly clean, with great stitching in the headrests still, and only one small burn hole in the passenger seat bottom. The interior is complete with good armrest cover, only thing that hasn't been replaced is a shifter boot to fit over the A523/568 style shifter. Stock gauge faces were overlaid with white vinyl faces to match the Autometer/Mopar Phantom series gauges, so gauging looks like a complete set.

Underbody and floors were coated with some thin black undercoating before I got it, everything seems solid underneath. There is one ding in the front air dam and one large scrape in the passenger side front fender shown in the photos below. Other than that, the only real deterioration in the paint is in the roof gutter seam which has lost its paint in the seam. Doors and hatch are solid, no leakage problems, straight rear bumper cover even.

    ENGINE:
-2.5L Commonblock, Venolia forged slugs, ~7.5:1 compression ratio, balance shafts removed
-Mopar +1mm mild ported race head, RP prototype steel adjustable cam gear.
-Ported stock exhaust manifold, external TiAL 38mm wastegate evacuating between cylinders 2-3
-52mm TB on 2pc Intake ported to match, Spearco 1080 cfm intercooler
    -Fluidyne aluminum radiator
-Turbonetics T3/T4 hybrid with 60-1 HiFi cold side and Stage 3 .63 A/R hot side
-+40% injectors, TU fuel rail, -8 AN feed from Walbro 255L/hr intank pump, Aeromotive AFPR
-Completely and professional rewired, all modifications soldered, heat shrunk, and taped, S60 harness, Paul Vellicky custom calibrated SMEC, external voltage regulator, etc.

    TRANSMISSION:
-'94 large gear A523, 3.77 gears, Ed Peters clutch type limited slip differential
-Fidanza aluminum flywheel, RPS 4-puck clutch, TIII pressure plate

    MISC:
    -New Bosch alternator
    -New master cylinder
    -Manual steering rack
-New fuel tank, straps, and fuel pump hanger
    -New shocks and struts
-Solid bobble strut and BadAssPerformance front mount
-AN lines and fittings for fuel feed and return, oil pressure, fuel pressure, and turbo coolant/oil lines.

If you arn't local and need a second opinion, I'm sure JT and GreatLakes Hotrod can give another opinion of how straight this car is. With two young kids, I just don't have the time I used to to have fun with it, so it's time to find another home for her. Please let me know if you are interested.

    I'll add more photos below.

First, the blemishes. Stock shifter boot doesn't clear A523/568 cable shifter. Small hole in passenger seat bottom. Small hole in front air dam. Scratch through clearcoat and into paint on passenger side front fender.

Another angle in engine bay showing front mount Spearco intercooler, some paint fade on otherwise straight rear bumper, missing paint in roof gutter, and shot of clean door panels.

    Bump.

I have a deal to get this moved soon. If you show up with $3,500 cash and pick up the car in the next two weeks, it's yours. Othewise, I will probably pack it away for the winter. mskibbe@gmail.com if interested.

Just the gauges should make someone buy it. I still have a 1977 Chevy Monza with a 350/350 for sale for only $2700......swap?....swap with $1000 from me to you?

Nicely done Mike! Quite a deal for someone looking to get in the game for not a lot of cash. A person would have at least 4 times that into a car in parts alone trying to build something similar. Not counting all the time, labor, fabrication, and all in an extremely clean turn key SC chassis too. This car should have been gone at $5K within days of posting. Bump for a great deal!

    Re: 1986 Shelby Charger

Nah, not interested in a swap.

There's been some interest, but no one wants to pay to ship. And I've been honest with the folks that ask if it can be driven 400 miles to somewhere else by telling them it is a 25+ year old car with an open down pipe... I would suggest shipping it. The market seems to be for streetable cars and this is more of a built-track car at this point.

No one has been out to look at it, so they're not turning it down after seeing it in person. Maybe I should put it back to stock since it could be a nice example of a stock SC, given the nice body and interior?
