I would ONLY buy SST 27SF512 chip from Moates. SST 27SF512 are discontinued. There are a LOT of fake chips out there that don't work. Don't waste your earn $$$ for something that doesn't work.

Thanks Tryingbe, If this is something that goes ahead I'll probably just get a Burn2 from Moates then. Question, you link and say to get the SST 27SF512 chip then in the next sentence say that the chip is discontinued??????

    Moates bought the last batch.

Just buy a 87 LM and socket the thing and get the Ostrich, do the few wire moves and your tune on-the-fly capable. Do bother with the burn2, it works but swapping chips in and out is a pita

I'm probably highjacking Gaboons thread a bit too much but my plan is to tune 2-3 cars with the Ostrich then when that's done burn them a cal so they don't have to have the Ostrich plugged in.

I know this is an old thread, but has anyone tried this? I am interested in installing an Ostrich on my socketed GLHS computer and according to Rob comment above, this is possible on the upper chip. Has anyone tried it with success?
