    No COM port

Hi, im trying to set up my Boost button flashabe SMEC and i dont know what i am doing.

When i open MPtuner the bottom left of the screen shows NO VALID PORTS exist. So i go to set up, com port, settings and it give me an error that no ports exsist. Im currently using my shop lap top with windows 7. When i plug the cable into the lap top it makes the noise and i can go to devise and see it. So what do i need to do to make this work?

    Re: No COM port

I fixed the issue, I did a complete uninstall of the drivers using the instructions in post #1
    http://forums.parallax.com/showthrea...=1#post1091845

Then installed the latest drivers using the installer from FTDI's website (use the Windows executable from the comments column):
    http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

Finally, you have to find the FTDI USB listing in Device Manager under the USB category. Right click on it, click Properties and on the second or third tab, you need to check the option to use the VCP driver. Then restart the computer and it should find the drivers and start working properly
