    L-body 2-door vs 4-door A/C (compatible?)

I'm attempting to install A/C lines from an '85 Shelby Charger into my '86 GLH Turbo and am not having much luck. Is there a difference between 2-door and 4-door L-bodies? I was able to install the condenser and compressor just fine, but when I try to install the lines onto the condenser it hits the radiator support before I can bolt it up.

I was so hoping to have a 95% stock underhood appearance, but it looks like I may have to do without A/C until I find something else. Anybody know?

I tried using the stock stuff that came on the car. Replaced the stock hoses with new hoses, flushed the stock condenser, bought a rebuilt stock ac compressor. What a mistake it was. Spent bunch of time trying to look for the stock condensor, and it turns out stock condenser cannot be bought new, so I was stuck with the a 29 year old one. It didn't work well with R134A in AZ summer. After the rebuilt compressor failed a second time, I took it to AJ's shop. Spent lots of $$$ for nothing.

I paid AJ to get him put in new custom lines, aftermarket universal condenser, and a later style ac compressor. Looks pretty factory to me and it works great in AZ 110-120F summers with R134A. I would start looking for a shop that will make custom hoses and sell aftermarket universal condenser. Setup still working 2 years later with zero issues. I would strongly suggest you take this route.

    Old setup.

    New setup.
