    Fuel Pump Quit

My pump is on its way out in the 86 Daytona. It makes a god awful elephant noise when priming and sometimes when going down the road it loses pressure and makes the noise again, kind of like it may be cavitating.
So I am going to drop the tank and replace the pump. Being that my boost solenoid is bad and I am running 7 psi, I would like to up the boost and fuel at the same time. Should I just go with a stock pump? I would like to go to maybe 15 psi max right now with no noticeable mods. What should I do to achieve this?

There is no need to drop the tank to replace the pump.

Stock replacement pump will be fine, though, I like DeatschWerks fuel pumps for their 3 year no fault warranty.

There is enough space in there to take out the pump and its sender unit.

DW200. It will need to be modify.

    Re: Fuel Pump Quit

Rock auto has had fuel pumps at times really cheap. So check them out and dont forget the discount code. I like to upgrade the pump anytime I change one. A little extra quantity on hand if needed never hurts. A lot of people had great luck with the walbro's and they are inexpensive. I have them in 2 of my 3 cars. The one without it had one but it went bad and would all of a sudden drop the pressure. This issue turned me away from them. I am running an aeromotive 340 in it now. I really like that pump and i think its worth the extra $50. The first time I went to start the van after I installed it I thought I forgot to connect the wires becuse I didnt hear it. It is much quieter than the walbro. If you go that route just make sure you get the right number. They have a listing for our cars but FWD's supplier gave them the wrong number at one point. I had to send mine back and cindy quickly sent me the number I got off Aermotives site. It was a drop in except you need a new piece of submersable fuel line and a new sock because the ones supplied will not work.
