Shaking 2.0L in a Neon

Is there a wrong way to reattach the vibration damper?
Back at 45,000 Kms I had a new short block put in.
Then a couple years ago, the engine mount failed. I did a patch job on the mount. Too much work to replace it.
So now when the car is idling, the whole car vibrates. The steering wheel shakes and now my exhaust has a real bad rattle going on at just the right rpm.

When you install the dampner which it really isnt one but use a paper clip to see if its on all the way.Youll feel a slight ridge between the dampner and crank snot.Im betting you have a broken engine or trans mount.
