Well that's kind of what I was getting at. When I had an S70, there was NO step down lip left inside the compressor housing right where the wheel is. I know the super 60 leaves just a very slight bit left just like pictured. That's why I asked for a pic without the housing on, you'll be able to tell REAL quick if it's just a super 60 based off the size of the exducer.

The easiest way really is to measure the inducer and exducer diameters.

Well, once you've seen them both it really is easier to eyeball them than actually measure them. They look very different.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

Yeah 2.95'' exducer on the compressor wheel means it's a TO4E wheel, probably 46 trim. Measure the inducer to be sure. A 2.0'' inducer would be 46 trim.

The turbine wheel is either stage 2 or 3. Both of them have a 2.55'' exducer, have to measure the inducer to be sure but the pitch of the blades looks stage 3 to me. Stage 2 is 2.122 and stage 3 is 2.229

    Turbine measurments: 2.55, 2.050

    Compressor measurements: 2.95, 2.00

Any suggestions of a source for a new turbine and shaft?
Same size as what I currently have.

Are you sure you measured right? 2.05 doesn't fit any wheel. Stage 2 is 2.12'' and stage 3 is 2.22''. Stage 1 is like 1.89 so we know it's not that.

Sounds like it's closest to stage 2 for you. Is there something wrong with the wheel that you need to replace it? Call Chris at TU I'm sure he can get you a replacement.

I'll have to measure it again. The turbine shaft is damaged at both bearing surfaces.

    Re: S70 with .48?

I cleaned all of the crud off the turbine and made a better measurement.
    2.525 and 2.120 inches
The turbing housing bore is 2.163 inches.
    Looks like a stage 2.
I posted more photos at the link above.

The TU Trannybuster turbo looks similar to this one. I'm going to call Chris and see if this turbo can be saved.

    Thanks for the help.

Yeah stage 2 turbine wheel, Chris will have those available for you I'm sure.

The only difference in the trannybuster is that it uses the true T4 compressor housing. But a 46 trim in the stock housing with a .63 stage 2 has been known to be a potent combo for sure.
