Ford .63 AR support bracket, how to?????

Ok So I just got my turbo back from TU. LOOKS AWESOME! It's a TII Garrett unit modified to the 60 trim compressor wheel. I opted to get the Ford style .63ar hot side housing due to the Chrysler one being made of unobtainium these days. Already have the stock exhaust manifold out being welded and re-tapped to bolt it up, but what about the support bracket? I haven't tried to mock the thing up at all yet because my block is still out being machined but the new housing doesn't have any type of provision for a support. What are you guys doing? Don't really want to leave it unsupported, building a driver not a trailer queen! Certainly I'm not the only person that has faced this obstacle. Ideas, pics, suggestions, little help????? Thanks

I dont run a support bracket and many dont without issue. If you still wanted to, a new strap could be fabricated to bolt at one of the swingvalve bolts. Just take a piece of 1/8in steel and mount it up in a vice then twist and bend it to fit where you need it to.

As you've already noticed, the turbo support bracket mounting provision is cast into the turbine housing on TI/TII turbos, and the Ford turbine housing doesn't have that provision. One way around this that I've found is to use the turbine clamp rings that secure the center housing from a TIII turbo. The support bracket mounting provision is instead integrated into one of the clamp rings. I'm not sure if that would allow you to use the TI/TII support bracket, or a TIII one would then be required though.

Yeah I'm sure I could come up with something to fab up if I had my parts infront of me. I was just looking for some pics of what others have done so I can get an idea since my parts are still out being machined.

When I installed a Holset, I thought the same thing so I fab'd up a bracket to weld on the housing
Picture is mocked up before it was welded on.

Looks good! Pretty much along the lines of what I was thinking, thanks.
