Put a 24mm van master cylinder on the lancer. If you push the pedal hard enough you can hear a clunk and the pedal is solid as a rock. Is the master cylinder bottoming out?

Short answer: no. Im not sure what that clunk is but they ALL seem to do it if you push the pedal hard enough. My experience has been that when the system is perfectly bled you cant push the pedal far enough down to get to it, at least when the car is off.
But i dont know what causes that feeling either. Now that i've admitted that, it's going to bother me until i figure it out.
Dont push the red button. You hear me?
Tried it again today...no clunk but god that pedal is so rock solid!! I guess that's what happens with new parts and a gallon of brake fluid to bleed the system twice.
Yeah, like i say, when the system is perfectly bled you have to REALLY cram down on the pedal to get it to make that crunch noise. As many times as i've done it, i still seem to run into bleeding problems now and again. Sounds like you've got yours figured out.

Yea I'm a big dude so pushing the pedal not a problem.
Did go through a ton of brake fluid to get to this point but it was worth it.
